Fixture Repair & Installation

We rely on plumbing fixtures and appliances on a daily basis. Whether you have a cracked toilet or a malfunctioning garbage disposal, or you want to update your bathroom or kitchen fixtures, the experts at Leeson Plumbing are here to help.

There are certainly repairs and fixture installations you can do yourself. However, if you are inexperienced, you may want to consider hiring a professional plumber. Plumbing fixtures, if repaired or installed incorrectly, can lead to leaks that may cause water damage.

Garbage Disposals

Garbage disposals are a necessary kitchen convenience in most homes. Preparing a meal is much easier when bits of peels and other small scraps can be put into the sink and down the drain. Over time, your garbage disposal will not work as effectively or stop working altogether. That is because garbage disposals are constantly exposed to countless gallons of running water, dishwashing liquid, bits of food, and bones; not to mention the accidental spoon that accidentally makes its way down the drain. All of these things will wear down the functionality of your garbage disposal over time.

If your garbage disposal stops working, you should never attempt to repair it yourself. A garbage disposal’s grinding blades are extraordinarily sharp and may severely injure you. That’s why it’s crucial to choose a licensed plumber who is experienced with garbage disposal repair.

Maintaining Your Garbage Disposal

Try to avoid putting the following things down your garbage disposal:

  • Grease, cooking oil, or any other oily substances
  • Coffee grounds
  • Large chunks of food, especially starchy foods such as pasta or potatoes

When to Call a Plumber to Fix Your Garbage Disposal

  • When the unit is not making noise but it is turned on
  • The garbage disposal is leaking
  • The garbage disposal is backed up
  • A jam that cannot be released with the wrench designed to fit the slot under the disposal
  • Foul odor no matter how thoroughly you’ve rinsed it

What Our Customers Say

“The kitchen sink in my house was so old the basin always looked dirty, even when I scrubbed it with bleach. I was referred to Leeson Plumbing by a friend that had used them for a bathroom remodel and I am so happy that I went with them.

Within a day of my initial call, my old sink was replaced with a new one with a pulldown spray nozzle and a built-in soap dispenser. I’m pleased with the work they did and will definitely use them if I have future plumbing issues.”
